How to do it: SCRAMBLED EGGS



Today I want to tell you how to make scrambled eggs.

As you probably already know, I love eggs and they are very good for us. They taste great, they are full of nutrition and you can do so many things with them.

 

4We are used to scrambled eggs for breakfast because we need super-hero power to start the day, but you can have them any time you like.

You can add your favorite veggies like tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers or spinach. Just scramble everything together. You can be creative. And when you think you are done you top it with your favorite cheese.

Remember to always have an adult with you when you cook on the stove.

Here we go: How to cook…SCRAMBLED EGGS

You will need:
1-2 Eggs, your favorite vegetables, salt & pepper, butter or oil

Also:
1 bowl, 1 whisk,
1 non-stick frying pan,
1 rubber spatula or wooden spoon,
1 towel or oven mitt


4Crack 1-2 eggs into a bowl. Make sure that there are no shell pieces inside the eggs. If you only like the egg whites you can fish out the egg yolks and just use the whites. Add a pinch of salt and pepper or any other spice that you like.

(TIP: You can add 1 tablespoon of milk to keep the eggs softer)


Then beat the eggs lightly with a whisk.

Place the frying pan on the stove and turn it on to medium heat. Make sure the pan handle is turned to the side so you don’t accidentally knock the pan down and hurt yourself. If the handle gets too hot, use the towel or oven mitt to hold it.

Take a little piece of butter and put it into the pan. (Instead of butter you can also use vegetable oil.)

Once the butter is melted and starts to get bubbly you can add your veggies. Carefully mix them inside the pan for 1-2 minutes to get them hot. Now you can slowly pour the eggs into the pan. (If you don’t want veggies in your eggs, you can add the eggs once the butter gets bubbly.)

Slowly start moving the eggs inside the pan using the spatula or spoon. Keep the eggs moving so nothing gets stuck on the bottom of the pan.




4Once the eggs get thicker and you see curds of cooked eggs, turn the temperature to low. This means you are almost done. If you like cheese now is the time to add it.

Once the eggs are fully cooked, turn off the stove right away.

Take the pan off the stove using an oven mitt or towel and scoop the eggs onto a plate with the spatula.

My secret combination is red peppers, avocados, spinach and cheese. I put it on whole wheat bread and I have fruits and a glass of milk with it.

Sven says you can never eat too many vegetables, because they are very good for us.
