Corn Flakes crusted Chicken Strips
March 22, 2018
Who doesn't like chicken tenders? They are so crispy and yummy and you can dip them in all sorts of fun dipping sauces. Most restaurants fry them, which can make them greasy and high on calories. Try our baked Corn Flakes crusted Chicken Strips. The corn flakes give an extra crunch and sweet taste and the baking makes them a lot healthier 🙂
- Prep: 15 mins
- Cook: 20 mins
- Yields: 1 serving of chicken tenders
Directions
1You need a chicken breast of about 5 ounces. Please make sure it is fresh and clean and has no bruises. On a cutting board cut it into 3-4 strips (the long way). Season your strips with a little bit of salt & pepper and some dried oregano. Set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2Now let's work on the breading station - starting with the corn flakes. Put them into a medium-sized bowl and crunch them with your hands into about half their original size.
3Second is the flour. Put it into a bowl and season it with the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix it around with a fork or a whisk.
4Third comes the egg. Crack it into a different bowl and whip it smooth with a fork.
5Your breading station is complete. Now you need to set it up. First the chicken, then the flour, then the eggs and last the corn flakes. Prep a baking tray with baking paper (non-stick/wax).
6For the first part of the breading process roll each chicken strip in the flour so that it is covered entirely. Pad it a little so some of the extra flour can fall off.
7Then put the chicken strip into the egg and get it covered.
8Last put the chicken strip into the corn flakes and roll it all around so that everything gets covered. You can squeeze it a little to make sure the corn flakes stick to the chicken nicely.
9Put the chicken strips on the baking tray. (NOTE: It is best if you do the breading with just one hand. You want to keep the other hand clean in case you need to grab something). Put the baking tray into the oven and set the timer to 20 minutes.
10When the buzzer goes off your chicken strips are done.
11You can eat them simply with ketchup or a honey mustard dip. Check the SNACK section for some fun dip recipes.
12Wooooaw, don't they look yummy?! Enjoy 🙂
